More than three decades after he picked up a guitar for the first time at age seven, Justin Trevino continues to live up to his name – not only his reputation for musical excellence. Mike Carr and Justin Trevino visited in the KCWM studios for a two hour extended interview and played all the cuts from his latest album Justin Trevino Sings Johnny Bush.
Frank Helvey is the owner of Pearsall Livestock Auction and a friend to all cattlemen. Born in Andrews, on the high plains of the Panhandle, Frank and his wife Marilyn settled and raised their family in South Texas. He brought the first special cow sales to the industry during the severe drought of the ’50’s, and he’s forever on the cutting edge of needed progress. He’s more than a friend to all cattlemen and owner/operator of the Pearsall Livestock Auction, Frank is a director of Security State Bank in Pearsall, serves on many state and national cattlemen organizations and agencies, and the Helvey family is an active part of the Church of Christ in Hondo. He’s a good friend of KCWM radio, and a sponsor of our comprehensive agricultural programming. Frank covers a lot of territory, but we’ve got him cornered for a sit-down at on of our in-studio sessions. You don’t want to miss this one. We’ll share some laughs, and a few tears too. We always learn something when we visit with our long-time friend, rancher Frank Helvey.
